The Story of Little Sasha Bell

She arrived at Mission Possible Foundation Pune in a brown paper bag that was carelessly thrown over the gate by persons unknown, just like a piece of unwanted garbage. We noticed a slight movement in the bag and when we went to inspect it, we were shocked to find a newborn pup inside. Hungry, helpless, and entirely at the mercy of us humans to survive.

She was immediately put under intensive care, kept warm, and fed a diluted solution of Cerelac Rice.  As we were concerned that her chances of survival without the care of her mother were close to nil, she was kept under 24/7 observation. Finally, on the 5th day, she opened her eyes and started responding, gaining enough strength to move around.

Sasha, as she was named, grew in leaps and bounds. She nestled in the motherly love and warmth of two other rescued dogs, Smoky and Trendy. They both were rescued in similar circumstances and perhaps recognized Sasha’s plight and the love and care she needed to survive.

Sasha was about a month old when she was adopted. It was mutual love at first sight and Sasha had found her forever home.

Today Sasha is all grown up and is the apple of her family’s eye.

Open Your Heart & Home To The Ones Needing Love The Most

When looking to adopt from an animal shelter, consider paying special attention to the following types of animals. They are most in need of the true animal lover residing in you!

Seniors

Older pets often have a harder time finding homes but can be wonderful companions with lots of love to give.

Shy or Timid Animals

Pets that are shy or scared may need extra patience and love. Over time they become deeply attached and loyal companions. Many have a sad story and need a new start at happiness.

Special Needs Pets

Animals with medical conditions or disabilities may require extra care but can be incredibly rewarding to adopt.

Long-Term Residents

Pets that have been in the shelter for a long time might be overlooked by others but are just as deserving of a loving home.

Mixed-Breed & Indie Pets

These animals often have fewer health issues compared to some purebreds and can make excellent pets.

Bonded Pairs

Sometimes animals come in pairs that are closely bonded and should be adopted together; giving them a home means they won't be separated.

High-Energy Pets

Active animals often need more exercise and mental stimulation; they might be perfect if you lead an active lifestyle.

Animals with Unique Personalities

Spend time getting to know the animals to find one whose personality matches your own, regardless of age, breed, or appearance.

Each of these categories represent animals that may not be the first choice for everyone but can make wonderful additions to the right family.
